Float
Naheen Ahmed
Sometimes you don’t want to go too far, you just simply want to float aimlessly up in the clouds. Looking down on earth, directionless and empty, dissociating into a dreamlike reality. This piece was heavily inspired by Buddhist art technique called “Rime Thangka”, practiced in Nepal, Tibet and India. The religious motifs and concepts help me make sense of my own spirituality, through the digital format I’m modernizing the art style.
Dual Artistry
Prudence Pathways
$21
It’s about my ability to discipline myself while also allowing myself to express myself freely without judgement. It’s a piece on self control, and how I try so hard to have it, yet crave the thrill of the unknown
The top represents how I’m expected to be, bright (as in positive) and compliant. The bottom represents how I am expected to be when challenging the system (thoughtful and calculated).
It’s a matter of me being able to enter and exit both portals freely at my own will without judgement
We’re always expected to be one thing or the other, but I think humans are more than that. We all have our complexities and simplicities and should celebrate such."
